although toyotas arent popular like hondas to be high revving cars...it is true that the hp comes at just about 200 rpms short of the redline. Basically the car will shift automatically once the peak HP has been reached. However the amount of torque your engine outputs peaks earlier than the readline.
when you car is fully warmed up, just mash it and u should feel the pull. IN fact, in the city, your traction control will have to reduce some of the power as you will loose traction.
