I think everyone would have come to that conclusion by noticing the 1.6L twin cam 4AGE in the engine bay and the FWD layout.

well nova is a direct copy of toyota sprinter/ not to be confused with sprinter trueno

you will see that the ae82 sprinter has the same arching in the back as the nova, but ae82 corolla sedan has pretty flat back window

I'm new to 4ages. Really got into them when i bought my 1988 chevy nova from my neighbor who was hard up for cash. All i knew was that he needed cash and i needed a car, and the car was just sitting in the parking lot of our apt complex. He sold me the car for $500. I took the beast for a test drive and realized how quick it was. so i was just doing your basic tune up and oil change one day, and i guy just walked up and flip out screaming about 4age and how didi get one in a chevy nova. So i started to dig around and found you guys talking about it. Now i know how rare the beast is.

I've got an 87 and two 88's shell's and one blowen 4age to be rebuilt to put in the standerd shell. Also have the 5 speed trany out of a 87 corolla to put behind it. Just need to get a harness for it and drop it in. Any one know where I can pick one up? My car does not have the ss sticker on it , just the nova badge on the back.

The new Nova was a rebadged and mildly restyled Japanese market Toyota Seca, a model sold in Japan as an upmarket version of the Toyota Corolla. Nova shared the Corolla's AE82 platform, 1.6 L (98 cu in) 4-cylinder engines and was available with 5-speed manual, 3-speed or 4-speed automatic transmissions. The 1986 Chevrolet Nova was initially offered only in a four-door sedan body style. A five-door hatchback was added shortly after introduction. The only engine was a carbureted 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 74-horsepower. It teamed with either a five-speed manual or three-speed automatic transmission. This was the same powertrain offered in the Corolla. In 1988, Nova's final year, a Twin-Cam version was available. It featured a 110 hp twin-cam fuel-injected engine with a 5-speed manual. A 4-speed automatic transmission was optional. Its exclusive color combination was black with red accents and a light grey cloth interior. 4-wheel disc brakes, aluminum wheels and full instrumentation were included.

Is it possible to put this 87 4age engine out of a 87 FX-16 in a 87 chevy nove that has a 4acl engine and an 3 speed automatic in it? Will it bolt up to a 87 corolla 5speed trany and will the tranny bolt up to the nova along with the engine? Or can I use the auto. tranny along with the 4age engine? The difference in hp is about 60 more hp, will the auto tranny handle it.
