Why do you want brighter tail lights?

To see ......... But if your tail lights can be seen from 1/8 mile away, that should be good eh? If not, then maybe you have bad grounds. Cleaning and tightening those might help. That is where I would start.

Ok! Now I see (no pun intended)

To get brighter tail light bulbs you might have to go to a higher wattage bulb. A higher wattage could increase the tempreature in the housing. With multiple bulbs you are also talking about a greater draw on the electrical system (overheating the tail light wires)

Might be easier to get another set of lights from a salvage yard and try again. This tim e in the day.
