Australia Swapping engine...

ok, so heres the deal, i own a 92 corolla sedan, and i unfortunately have the 1.6 litre carby engine, and quite frankly.. it just isnt good enough. This is probably more a question for Aussie ppl as im just asking about prices that you know about. Im not looking for a big power gain, just something i can do SOMETHING to! apart from just an exhaust. Anyway, so i just had a look at the engine swap guide, and i would be looking at one of the versions of the 4A-GE DOHC. As i read, its pretty much a direct swap, but, just wondering about prices/availability of the engine, then getting it installed. Its just a thought in the back of my mind at the moment, but, if i find out its not actually too expensive who knows! Anyways, if anyone has any ideas, let me know..

question, how can you get a carburated engine when the 4A-F (no E) are only supposed to be on the 88-89 models for the AE92?

get a 4A-GE redtop or one of the 20V, if you want pure power, you can go with a 4A-GZE or to drop in a hybrid engine (7A-FE block with the pistons, the head and the compressor of a 4A-GZE to construct a 7A-GZE!!!!!)

i doubt a 7agze would last long unless you invested alot of money for internals. and the aussies got more engine options then us, so that explains why he has a 4af. as for swaps, id check out twincam.info, its basically an aussie corolla forum dedicated to the 4ages/4agzes/4agtes, im sure you can find people in your area to help you out.
