Talking It's Alive!

With in the past little while, i have come across some, what i thought was, problems with my '81 Corolla. And i thought i would have to do a bunch more repair and spend a lot more money than first planned. The engine was miss-firing and the battery didnt want to hold a charge for longer than 15 minutes after i shut her off. Also on top of all that, i thought the starter was about to go.

Anyways, the other night my dad and boyfriend needed some help to move a full sized 18 horsepower farm tractor and wanted me to help with my car, so reluctantly i said "okay" scared the car would finally die completely on me. so we gave her a jump start and amazingly moved the tractor without and problems. While i had her running i decided to go on my race track in the back field where i noticed she wasnt misfiring anymore. i brought her back to the shop and both my dad and boyfriend who are car experts said she wasnt miss-firing and it was running smoothly Than yesterday we took a look at the starter and noticed its about 4 years old (the tag was still on it) and it seemed to be fine. But the battery is original....and wasnt taken out when it was sat by the ocean for 2 years ignored so im adding a newer battery to my list of parts that i will need to bring her up to date.

Sorry to ramble on but im pretty stoked that after working her engine a bit shes doing better than what was originally thought

it is probable that the engine have a fouled or bridged spark plugs and that thru constant high rev, the sparkplug was cleaned or you have already burned the old fuel away.
