AE86 AE86 almost dead need help!

I took my car in to the mechanics to get a minor gas leak fixed that was supposedly coming from the line and after I got my car back and went to put gas in it it pissed out all over the ground. I'm not accustomed to having my car fixed and having it come back with the same problem but ten times worse.

Now it would seem my gas tank funnel has rotted out to the point where it can no longer take gas in. This pisses me off as this problem did not exist before they got it which mean probably one of 2 things. Ether the line was never damaged and it was the funnel and some how handling the gas tank when it was off made it worse, or when they put it all back together they did not put something on right. But they were nice enough to try and boro fix it with fiberglass for free...

Ether way I can no longer put gas into my car and a got just under half a tank before my car is dead. So I guess I need a new funnel... Any ideas where I can get one not through Toyota? Or should I just buy a jerry can and fill over grates for now on? lol.

Maybe tar and duck tape?

Ya, I'll try and look up some local yards but I'll have to get them to get the part off for me if they are willing to do that because all my tools are in another city at my other house.

take a look maybe the retards forgot to reattach the rubber hose, or reattached it too low on the filler neck????? otherwise take a look its metal the "instant gas tank patch" from a parts store should work on it if its not too bad or possibly it could be welded (if taken off car)

Oddly enough it is metal... I was rather surprised that it dose not even have a rubber insulation on the inside. I would have though it would be made of a plastic or rubber as well...

Although that would be nice it also raises a couple new problems, such as the fabrication of mounts, custom lines and how I will set up the new lines and where will I mount the tank...

It sounds like a rather expensive option this way.
