Levin AE111 4AFE to 4AGE 20 Valve Conversion

I am looking at buying a wrecked BZG with a black top 20 Valve 4AGE and putting the engine in my AE111 Levin which currently has a 4AFE engine. How much work is involved in this? Will the engine bolt in and will I be able to use my 4AFE manual gearbox with the 4AGE engine as the wreck is an automatic. If anyone has done this before or knows how I would apreiceate your help.

will bolt in. can use your gearbox (though it'd be better with a c160 (6spd) or atleast a c56, im assuming you have a c52). wiring should be very straight forward (just use all of the other cars electronics, should prolly be plug and play.

It's very easy if you buy a whole car as a doner.
Every thing will bolt right in, wiring will be easy too.
There is a slight difference in plugs (auto vs. manual), but it's only one plug and it's and easy job. The pin outs are on club 4ag.

Your gearbox will work fine, (it's a c50) but your current flywheel will not bolt to a 4age crank, 4afe = 6 bolt where a 4age = 8 bolts.

Just track down a 4age flywheel and clutch setup (as in clutch plate and cover). You will need flywheel bolts too, the ones in the auto flexplate of the donor car are too short.

Just ask if you want to know anything else.

Hey, im looking into buying an auto blacktop without tranny sometime.
Your conversion shouldnt be hard at all, bolt up and use the harness and ECU from the BT.
However in my search for answers, people told me the auto ECU will be different to the manual ECU, not only because of the extra plug for the tranny, but also the speed cut and rev cut is lower than in the manual ECU.
I was told to get the rev's high, youll need to bridge the over drive wires in the ECU. "so it will read as always on"

There is no extra plug. It's just that the ECU to body loom plug is different, you just have to splice it into your loom.

There is no difference in performance between manual and auto ECU's for 4ages.

ok well the auto ECU has a power button, if its off it puts the ECU in to economic mode, and im told that it cuts the rev limiter short.
So you need to bridge the wires "keeping the over drive on" so the rev cut will go to full rpm.
Now im not sure if thats what the person means, or if its that after you bridge the wires, that it will still not climb to the full rpm.

Those buttons only effect the gearbox, not the engine ECU.
