Of course there's people, but are there a decent amount of people that fix up the AE82 or the 1984ish to 1986ish corolla sedan? I like this one but it just seems like the 70s and early 80s corollas have a strong following and then all the sudden (aside from the hachiroku) people skip the AE82 and then the Ae92 sedan has a good following. Am I missing something? What happened here?
Did the carribean Islands, aussies, and canadians not get this one?
yeah we did, but no one really seems to like them, the fact that they were the first years for FWD didn't help either, by the time the AE92 sedans came out people were more used to FWD cars.
lol what are you talking about the aussies have the biggest cult following of the ae82 youll ever see. go to twincam.info. there seems to be a pretty good follwing in NZ and UK to. btw i got a silvertop powered ae82 sedan.
I've seen a lot of AE82 FX (the wagon) on club4AC.com, but not so many sedans. I'm suprised too that they aren't more popular. I love the way this beast handles, I've never seen a car with a tighter turning radius, and it's really light compared to most corolla's.
I looked man but I just see the hatchbacks... everyone knows they like those... post up your sedan if you can, I'd like to see it. yea I drove it too criard, I do like the way it handles too. I don't remember it being fast but it was peppy and I remember I was scaring the owner cuz I was turning all sharp... but it felt like to me that I was just casually turning. Ironically, and I'm not just saying this to blow the corolla up but it's been one of the funner cars I've driven cuz the one i drove was really peppy and clean. I had like a full load of people in the car too.

My first car was an AE82 Sedan. I loved the car. I had it for 2.5 years and it got wrecked (guy ran a redlight in a suburban and plowed into the passenger front side of the car). I picked up another one a few years back and did a 4age swap.
I took the motor, tranny, wiring, part of the fuel system, and the gauge cluster out of the FX I had as a donor car. I took the seats and steering wheel out of another FX that my buddy grabbed for the motor. I also have 4 OEM 14" AW11 MR2 rims that I put on it.
Trying to keep the OEM look as much as possible. I will be putting new springs and struts on it in the spring.
