Winter Tires?

I have a 1990 corolla gts. Just wondering if I should run 15" or 14" winter tires? will it make a difference in handling and not just be more expensive for the tires?

run 14s, they're cheaper than 15s.. trust me on this, 15s will be lower profile and therefore lots of $$$$

If you run 14s the cheapest size to run without throwing your speedometer off would be 175/65-14s, you want to run the skinniest tire you can find for your car (OEM tire size is 185/60-14) as skinny tires will cut through snow like nothing.

I ran 185/65-14s last year on my corolla and had no problems.. this only because I got a better deal buying that size as they seemed to have an overstock on them.

BTW, you sure you need snow tires? I thought BC winters were mostly rain.

Remember this when it comes to winter tires: the narrower the better. When you have a narrow tire, the total weight of the car is pressed over a smaller area, and pushes snow out of the way more easily. They're also cheaper!

hey BC has been getting quite a bit of snow in the past few winters actually...we used to get tonnes in the lower mainland back in the early/mid 90's then it got warmer and was pure rain...but now it seems to be colder again and its lasting alot longer too..

I ended up getting 185/65 14's for my car mounted on steelies for $300
Steelies are new and the tires were used for one season so still in good condition
