No it doesnt depend on the mechanic. If he cuts the frame hes already fucked up the whole thing.

Yes it will.

Don't know exactly if you're US spec AE101's are different, but someone here in the Netherlands has done it with great succes

http://www.corollaclub.nl/fotos/lp/l...on=show&id=415

You're better off with a 1300cc chassis then a 1600cc chassis because off the enginemounts.
The 1.3 chassis doesn't need mayor work for the engine mounts te match. If you take a 1.6 chassis, you're going to have to do some welding

i dunno what the fook you guys are smoking but from what i remember the 1.3L and 1.6L corollas have the same exact frame. the only difference is the mounts. like Flashmn said, you cut the frame you fuck the car, get it. all you have to do is either copy the celica mounts or adapt it to the corolla engine carrier. cutting the frame safely... talk about ruining the structural integrity of the car.

The ignorance plant!

Even if its a 2E engined corolla you're going to have to move the passenger side mount. Atleast this is the case in the AE82...

The Corolla AE101 I'm talking about here was running a 1.3 4E-FE engine.
If you do it right, like the guys from our club did, you won't have to make changes to te mounts on the chassis or the frame itself.

He just adapted the engine mounts themselves to let the engine sit a little lower.
