USA Engine replacement

Hi, I am from the Los Angeles area and have owned a rwd carb 86 toy/corolla/sr5 for about ten years. 190,000 miles on engine and finally died does anyone now of a reputable engine replacement location. Looking at the used Japanese engines but sounds to good to be true. I love the car fun to drive so don't want to get rid of it. Any help would be appreciated.

Gen5

umm.. i dont know of anywhere that do it for you since i dont live in los angeles, much less cali. but if you wanna do the work yourself then i can suggest a few links to sites that can sell you a motor.

but dont sell these wonderful cars because the motor died
everything is always fixable on a car

You could always do an LS1 swap now that would be a nasty ride .

Did you ever get your engine swap information? You are within the heart of Toyota Information if your within California. The T.O.R.C convention near Long Beach is schedule for early May 2008 and with all the venders there and the other swap meets within the area, Finding a replacement should be very easy. Plus with the Recycler magazine and all the JDM engines available from them, your source is at your finger-tips. Thanks

Thank you for the reply 73GTV. I found a mech. that helped get my car in running order at a reasonable cost. Will also look into swap meets and other vendors. Thank you for the info.

The used engines from Japan are in excellent shape. However, most used engines from Japan importers no longer carry the 4AC because it's too old.

Strange this importer has a special on engines. If you know where to look you will find whatever you want.
