High idle problem w/ my 86. Weird problem

Ok guys i've had this problem since i've owned my car. Its an 86 corolla 4 door FWD and only has 135k miles on her. Well the problem i've been having is when i turn on my headlights the cars idle will raise alot. But when the lights are not on it idles just fine .. I have no clue what could possibly have happened but i know its hard to stop the car sometimes bc the car is at like 1/8 throttle when the lights are on. I know headlights dont pull vacuum so what in the world could this be??

Also, my passenger side brake light will not work. Its like this, if the headlights are off the brake light doesn't work, but if i turn the lights on the light comes on but its just the running light. And when i hit the brakes the light still doesn't light up . I've replaced the bulb and i know it works bc if it didn't it wouldn't light up at all im sure. So the only one working properly lights on or off is the drivers side light!!

Anybody know what the problem might be??

Not sure about your idle problem, but with the brake lights it sounds like a wiring problem.

Exclamation

In some years they use vauum. Are you sure your year does not use a vacuum idle up switch to increase idle with headlights turned on? a vacuum leak can do that.. or a vsv valve which changes vacuum with a switch..
