The valves go... "clickclickclickclickclickclick"

so just recently, my valves started making noises they don't normally make.
when I'm at idle or maintaining a constant speed I don't hear it at all, but as soon as I put the gas pedal down at all the engine comes to life and accelerates, while constantly clicking.

I just had the oil changed recently, and it started making noise before the oilchange. haven't gotten around to changing out the sparkplugs though.
any ideas on why this is happening or what this is?

4AC engine. just over 101k miles.

the engine started ticking before my scheduled oilchange,

I went back to the overpriced oilchange place I went last time ( www.uncleedsoil.com )and had them put in the same high mileage oil, I'm pretty sure it's the same 10w30 grade as well. they also did an 'oil system cleaning' as the old oil was black and starting to sludge

like i said, check timing and valves. my valves do the same thing. its fine at idle, then its fine at full throttle but in between it sounds like its smacking. check your valves and get them re-done
