New here

Hi everybody, i am new here. I have had my toyota over a year now and am just getting interested in this forum stuff.

I have a 1982 Toyota corolla... "rare" edition.. reason i call it rare is cuz I have never ever seen one like it before.

I havent done much to it... havent done anything to it. I am trying to work on gettin things for it because I want to build it up.
As of right now it is not my daily driver, my jeep is.

I have a stock 1.8L that I am hoping to swap out for a twin turbo outta 93 supra.. I was told it would fit.

My name is Jay and this is my ride (igbore the paint :P)

haha ignore the for sale signs

yeah i have one of these but with the 1.6, These engines are bullet proof in my opinion, but ya they need more go. i suggest you find an easier engine to swap im unless you got mad fab skills to fit a supra 2JZ-GTE in it

I hae some buddies and my brother who are good at engine swaps andmakin the correct measurements and what not.... if not that out of a supra.. what engine do you think I could fit in without a whole lot of hassle that I could build on?

Unless you're swapping for another 3TC (1.8L motor already in there) you're going to have a lot of custom work. The 1JZGTE (JDM 2.5L TT Supra) or the 2JZGTE (3.0L TT Supra) motors will fit but with lots of mods as they're bigger and longer.

Another swap that would work is the 3TGTE motor but the motor is rare as it is.

you want some more info on these cars, hit these guys up. www.toyota3tc.com

ya build a turbo 3tc, youll make good power. honestly, have you researched this swap? you really have to think about these things, its not a honda where its bolt in and go, and even if it doesnt bolt in, somebody makes a kit for it already, your taking an inline 4 3tc engine and trying to add 2 more cylinder onto it (basically, open your hood, look at your engine, then imagine adding another half engine to it). then you have to convert it to an efi setup, meaning new tank (or making some sort of surge tank), high flow pump, new lines, and a ass load of wiring. youll need a stronger rear end, a bunch of custom mounts for teh engine and tranny, custom drive shaft, the list goes on. not to mention caging it, and bracing the body to support that much horsepower.

dont get me wrong, i applaud your enthusiam, but do a search on this forum, and look at all the "I want a twin turbo corolla" threads, and to the best of my knowledge, not a single person who makes those threads has done the swap. its not easy, or cheap. its going to be in the 5 digits just to make it half way reliable.

I am still a little new to these engine types so if you could explain a little bit more in detail, that would be great. But I do know that a 7af block is an MR2 engine? My friend has an MR2
and a 20 valve.. you think either of those will fit in my corolla?
