AE82 Owners Thread

So, i figured since us 1st gen fwd boys got stuck with the random rwd section of the corolla forums, i thought it would be cool, if we started a kind of member thread. just post pics or vids of your cars, specs, whatever, cause honestly, it seems like alot of the ae82 guys from the old forum style are gone or in hiding. i dont care what your car looks like (hell look at mine ), whats done to it (if anything), i just want to see if theres much ae82 owners left on this site.

so heres mine:

the day i brought her home

basically how she is now (with a little more body work now)

wasnt quite cutting it (understatement)

so i spent a couple bucks

just finishing up the swap now, wirings done, 5 spd swap done, need to install halfshafts, and installed my fuel system. heres some specs:

Engine/Tranny:
-1st gen 4age silvertop 20V
-wrapped headers
-k&n M's filter and afm adapter
-c52 tranny
-AE92 gt-s smallport halfshafts
-TRD AE92 short shifter and knob
-TRD spark plug wires
-AE92 clutch m.cylinder, shift cables
-Walbro 255lph inline pump
-16 gal. Jaz Pro Street fuel cell

Brakes/Suspension:
-AE92 gt-s rear drum to disk brake conversion
-Intrax fx-16 springs (not installed yet)

Very good work. I bet the amount of 4 door silver tops running around outside of Japan are far and few.I do not know if 20 valve power came stock in 4 doors I would bet it did. I have 2 fx16's. Both sleeping. I am giving a hand to a friend puting his 1940 Chevy sedan delivery together. Groundup streetrod.LT1 power. Mac and Zapco Focal ice. PS2 for the kids, Good luck with your project.Keep us posted I hope this thread takes off. So many cars so little time.Wayne

I'm still around. Haven't worked on mine at all really. The stock horn died; moreso the wiring connections corroded. I did a bit of work and trimmed back the damaged wiring, spliced new wires onto it, and ran them into the engine bay where I have my new dual tone air compressed horn.

I'll get some pics/vids of that when it gets warmer out.

nope, no tacho on the cluster (mine was an automatic originally). i got a 3-3/4", 10K rpm one on the a-pillar, i know it seems ricey, but atleast its functional, and the 8K's are actually too low...

Nice.. loving the swap EverAE.. you gotta come up to a meet in the summer.

BTW interested in a set of BRs for your car?? I'm thinking of changing the look of my car in the summer, they would look sweet on an AE82. I think I have the only set of 15s in Ontario.. I've seen maybe 2 sets of 14s, but no 15s. They're rare as it is, maybe 4 sets of them in Ontario in total.
