CA engine smog question

Hey every one!!! I'm new here. I wanted to ask if anyone here knew if it was California smog legal to put a fuel injected 4age in a
1987 SR5 Corolla coupe . Since it came carbed. :'(. And is it easy??????

technically it is legal and will pass smog as long as you put everything relating to smog from the 4age donor car into the other car and also the engine has to be from a newer model corolla than your current car. About the ease of the swap I'll let someone else chime in as I am not too familiar, although I heard the worst part is the fuel injection system. Hope that helps. All the smog equipment has to be there and fully functional.
