engine identification

Recently I came into possession of a 1961 metropolitan with what I have been told is a 1975 celica 2T-G engine (with transmission) in it. I've never had to identify an engine before so can anyone tell me how to confirm this?

Did you look for any markings on the engine?

This is a 2tg (they came stock with sidedrafts):

I find 3 casting numbers on the engine block. They at 02, 10, 18 and I find a number on the timing belt cover which I don't have in my possession right this minute. I have one twin solex side draft carberater on this engine and nothing on the valve cover. I'll try to get a picture this evening and post it.

Thanks

Change of direction. I have been told by a Toyota dealer that I have a 2T-C engine, used 1971 to 1974. When I get this mean machine repainted, I'll post a couple of pictures of it.

Thanks for your help,

Good little engines! A lot of upgrade parts for them. They are pretty much a Toyota Hemi.

As you can see my 2T-C, doesn't look anything like the 2T-G above.

The next picture I post will be for a much cared for 2T-C and the mean machine it's installed in.

Thanks again,
