Will the 4-age ecu work for 4-afe

So the basic question is

will the 4-age ecu work for a 4-afe engine?

The car is a fx-16 gts and after 240,000 miles the engine decided to die. I've already bought a new 4-afe engine. I know less power...ect but that doesn't really matter when you get a good deal on a engine. But what I need to know is can a unmodified 4age ecu be used with a 4afe engine.

Thank you for the most repeated term on this these forums "go find a 4age" well I would if it weren't for the fact that you can't find one for less than 700$ and at that price I might as well just rebuild the head.

go to hachiroku.net

it's a bunch of NW ae86 guys.... you can easily find them under $500....

and if you have to ask if you can run the 4afe on the 4age ecu, then there's a decent chance that you don't know what is entailed to get it to work....

Yeah after forging ahead attempting to use a 4afe and in replacement of 4age, they are incompatible in ways I never would have expected. The exhaust manifolds don't sync. The disturber is different spot, the starter is on the front of the engine instead of the back. the flywheel has less bolts.. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but the ECU was the least of the problems.

I know all of this... i've done a 4afe to 4age swap, and have my 4age running on a 4afe ecu....

there are dizzys out there that will work (i've seen them, just hard to come by), there is a flywheel that is compatible with your clutch & PP and trans, can get a trans that will fit a rear mounted starter (don't think a 4ag starter would fit behind the 4afe manifold), etc......

again, it will be easier for you to get a 4age... I wasn't being a jerk or being repetative.. I was telling you it will be easier and more cost efficient....

Yeah I'm rebuilding my 4-age its quite a bit less money and my engine turned out to be in way better shape than the 4afe I got. Also instead of taking... forever to finish it should be done by the end of this week.
