Looking at 1981 Wagon

I currently have a 1993 Olds Cutty Ciera. I was looking for something smaller, and I found someone who has a 1981 Corolla Wagon. He's looking for something easier to get into, I was looking for fuel mileage. I was looking for something to swap even, and with mine being in slightly rougher shape on the outside, this may be it. Can anybody tell me what to look for when I meet this guy? This is a rear wheel drive car, right?

Don't plan on swapping. Don't even plan on making it the main vehicle (my 95 Geo Prizm gets that honor.) But I plan on running it for a while until I can afford something better. Then I may keep it for the hauling capability. If it lasts.

I meet the guy tomorrow. My fear is not that I won't like it, but that he won't like my car.

It will haul more than my Cutty, simply because it opens wider.
