Need help with with buying an old corolla.

I have found an old Corolla standing in one of the worst part of our town pretty deserted, from how much i found on the internet it looks most like a 1976 Corolla SR5 sport coupe . it has a roof window and racing seats but thats all pretty dirty, it can still run but my judgement is that i would probably havto change everything (suspension, all wires, new interior, new paint, new front window and probably engine) . The bottom is rusty but ive seen worse on the road, the owner seems to be am alcoholic so i probably would get it for a botlle of booze, but can anyone tell me are the expenses that will go for the repairs worth it? and how much could it be. Really need help here guys i love that cars body

thats a super loaded question....

buy it as cheap as possible and get paperwork.

get it running/driving cheaply

drive it for a few weeks and reassess after its had some time on it again...

anybody can easily throw several thousands into a car especially if it needs motor and you want respectable paint...know what I mean
