84' Corolla charging issue

Today I bought a 84' corolla. It had been setting for over a year. I started it up and drove it home, but the charge light remained lit. The PO said it was charging when he parked it. Any ideas on gettinf it to charge? Is it the Alt. or the voltage reg?

AE86

If you left it sitting for a year and didn't start it like your supposed to. Fuel lines could get corroded which leads you w/ more stuff to replace, battery, alternator, fuel lines, etc.

I would say check all of the fuses, under the dash and under the hood. Also, check the fuseable link on the positive of the battery. Then go test the alternator at your autoparts store. Once everything checks out and it still does not work, then look into changing the voltage regulator. If you changed everything and it still does not charge, you may have a wiring issue.
