Canada

It's a 1984 Corolla with a 4a-c engine.

Okay... So the idle speed is supposed to be set to 900rpm, but it will only stay running when I adjust it to run at 1500rpm. When it's set to 1500, however, it stall when you put it in gear - it's an auto btw.

I figure it has something to do with the fuel delivery.

When I got it there were a few carb tubes that were not connected to anything and one was plugged with a bolt, so if anyone can help me out with that kind of stuf let me know and I'll get some pics up.

I appreciate any help I get.

I know my cars missing something here but I'm not sure what, or if it's what could be causing these problems.

What do you think?

I know this hose is suppose to be connected to something...

Picture one: The rubber hose and the dryer looking hose goes to the aircleaner; The dark hose sucks fresh air as you may know, and the flex heater tube is for the cold start, it helps the motor get get warm and sucks hot air out of the exhaust shield; thus reducing under hood tempertures.

Picture two: is an egr vac I think, shouuld go into the bottom of the of air cleaner that attaches and bolts down on the top of the carburator( I forgot how to spell that, hhmmm been a long time since I had a carb).goes into something that looks like protected adjuster screw made nylon. They wont run well without that unless you can mock or bypass it( runs better with though). I tried to stick a velocity stack and an edelbrock filter on '88 corolla sr5 and had the same problem so I just fabbed up some good stuff as always. Didn't your car come with the air cleaner box?
