my 82 Corolla Liftback

Hey guys, I was wondering if you can help me out. I picked up last winter an 82 Corolla Liftback with a stock 1.8l 5spd. My question is what would be the best engine swap for me to be able to turbo it? I would like to stay 1.8 of course! Still a work in progress.

umm, wrong thread. hes asking about his 1982 corolla, and what his options are for it. maybe you should post this in the AE82 owners thread that is stickied in this forum. its very nice however, love to see ae82's in action (even if it is upside down). like i said, post this in the ae82 owners thread, and feel free to share more photos there.

Vdub, since nobody else seems to be answering this, ill give it a try. hopefully it gives you a push in the right direction.

the engine you have is called the 3tc. instead of getting eager for swapping, i would suggest you look into the engine further, as the T series engine is still very popular, and can make some serious power. theres alot of possibilities for your drivetrain, as it sits. for the price of a swap, you could build a reliable and well performing engine with what you already have.

theres a couple forums dedicated to the T-engine.

Awwww that makes me sad... i just chopped my AE72 . if you need parts feel free to hit me up, taillights or whatever, pretty much anything except body parts, the only body part that was good was the hatch. i guess yours would be a TE72. very nice car
