Hi to all,im from malaysia & new here.Hope to get help from u all.
Am buying a Altezza Black Top Dual VVT-I 6 speed halfcut to put in AE86.
Today,we just taken out from the halfcut.Notice some problem will be facing...
It dont have FUEL RETURN LINE,so how do it work in 86 then?
And,is it better to used back Altezza's engine mounting or mods to 4AGE engine mouting?Because 3SGE engine mouting is costly...
Hope to get news from u all.Thanks.
Will upload my update here.
ok, that swap wont be cheap and if your worrying about costly motor mounts then go ahead and take the motor back. not sure the mounts line up right because its not an A series motor (4AGE that was in there). as far as it being a halfcut... you probably didnt get the whole driveshaft and i doubt the transmission will just bolt right up so you might need new mounts for that too. also, what ae86 is it? if its the gts then the swap will be a good deal cheaper but if its an sr5 your gonna need a fuel pump and you'll probably want to invest in new lines and tank as well single the sr5's dont have bladders. as far as a fuel return line... if the motor doesnt require one(?) then you dont need to worry about it and you can just cap off the part in the fuel tank. read up on some other forums and i wouldnt be surprised if someone on club4ag has done this swap

Yo,i just wanna get some HELP.Tats y i wanna research on IT.
Ok,if dont need fuel return line, tats means we need to install Altezza's fuel pump?
Anyway,thanks.
Doesnt have a fuel return line? pretty sure evey engine has fuel return or else there would be too much load on the pump... Nice choice for a swap though, 3S-GE AE86's Rock... no the engine mounts dont match up, if you have a welder or a friend with one theyre not hard to do, i think the sub-tunnel might be a bit small for the transmission too, need to do some cutty/weldy, and a custom trans mount too, custom driveshaft... all that fun stuff

Ya,no kiddin,we check its dont have fuel return line,so will custom it.Is not a hard work, hehe
The tunel we do some calculation,jz a very slightly do with the tunel, cos im wanna make it as original chasis as posible.
PICS!!!! yeah good call on keeping the chassis as original as possible, keep most of its original strength and rigidity, then you can build up from there
if you plan on running stock fuel requirements then you should have no problem running an altezza in-tank pump. i was just saying you could run an external stronger/faster pump just to be careful. but yea, def good call on doing as little modification to the chasis as possible. keep it as rigid as you can
