83' picup: Help! Not sure what to do next.

My truck has no power driving uphill; sometimes I have to drop it into second gear. Its been gutless since I purchased a few years ago it but it handles great in the snow. It should be noted that I live at 7500 ft. The previous owner put a lot of cash into her (roughly 9k in parts and labor). I need to get this truck ready for winter…please help!
1. Jasper engine, fuel pump, and thermostat, replacement of belts and hoses 11/23/01
2. Clutch disk pressure plate, release bearing, shifter bushings
3. Changed clutch belts, set timing 2/22/01
4. Replaced starter, exhaust manifold gasket 4/24/01
5. Replace oil pump, oil switch 5/11/01
6. Clutch master cylinder replacement 6/23/01
7. Thermostat fan and clutch 9/17/01
8. Fuel pump and alternator 1/23/02
9. Replace muffler, gasket, exhaust pipe 7/2/02
10. Replaced transmission (used) 3/03/03
11. New shroud
12. New alternator 05/20/08
13. New starter 9/11/08
14. Rebuilt carburetor (kit) 9/15/08

When I was rebuilding my carburetor the other day I noticed that there was a hose missing and my MC was not working at all. I then replaced the missing hose and the MC works properly. I’m not sure how long the truck ran without this working. Could this have caused other problems? Do I have a vacuum issue, piston issue? I’m not sure where to go from here…any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
