USA ae86 No heat!!! Please help.

I live in New York and I have no heat!!!

The Heater Unit (Blower) works just fine. It blows air, just not hot.
I replaced the Rad not too long ago, and I believe my water pump is working becuz I'm not over heating.

***The knob on the (Heater Control Assembly Panel) that moves left and right which controls the hot and cold in the car is somewhat broken.. could this be one of the problems?

Or could it be any one of the following:

Thermostat? (Stuck on Open or Close)
Coolant Temperature Sending Unit?
Heater Blower Resistor?
Heater Relay?
Air Inlet Damper? (The knob that controls the Air Inlet Damper Cable)

How do I trouble shoot this problem? Please Help!!!

if the heater knob that moves left and right is broken, then that will be the problem why you dont get heat. try taking out the climate control and check if there some broken plastic pieces that hold the heater control.

Here check this, more then likely the line from your control panel bent or fell off of it, or maybe its clogged, this lets hot coolant into your heater core which gives you heat

okay I took my dash appart and I found out what the problem was.
The lever that you control the heat was off the track.
I tried putting the lever back on the white plastic piece that makes it pivot.
But the new problem is it won't stay on the plastic pivot point.
WHY?
Does anyone have a picture of what it is normally supposed to look like?
The White plastic piece don't seem to be broken.
Also, Problem number 2 is that moving the heating switch is really hard to do!

For now I have it in the heat position, which is alot better but right now its not working correctly any suggestions?!

Thanks

Thanks for the pic, mine looks just like that.
Only thing is the white plastic piece seems to be worn out on the bottom, becoz the white plastic piece doesn't stay clipped into the lever.
Also when does stay its clipped in, its really hard to turn left and right.

I went to Toyota yesterday, and they said that they have the replacement cables (which are inexpensive),
but not a new plastic piece. They said they might not be able to order the lever with the plastic piece, due to lack of availability. (bcoz its too old)

Any suggestions other than buying a new heater control console?!

Mine has done the same thing, the water valve that 4agetercel posted a picture of tends to seize and becomes to much for the control cables to move. so the cables pop out of their mounts on the heater control assembly. I got tired of ripping the whole dash apart every time the cable popped off so I removed it from the control assembly under the dash and ran it close to the shifter and control it by hand. the only real fix is to replace the water valve.
