I want throttle bodies for my 85 corolla gts hatchback. But I cant find anything on the internet for them, I only find turbos. Should i get the turbo or throttle body? I want to spend the money for the throttle bodies, just i need some sites where i can find them.
you can usually find some sidedraft throttle bodies on ebay. Or, if you want them new and you have loads of cash, I believe Toda Racing makes them for the 16v.
ITB's are easy to find go to club4ag, usually they are from an AE101 silvertop but they are getting expensive now. back then i see them for $150 w/o the velocity stacks and throttle body adapter.
do you know whats involved in an itb setup? you dont just bolt them on and go. and unless your going to be building the engine its not going to yield much.
well i am not loaded, but i REALLY WANT ITB's really bad, i found a kit for 1000, and another for 2500, but the thousand dollar set up wasnt NEARLY as bad ass as the 2500, but you gotta get what you can take i guess, so when i get the money for these, i will be really happy
depends on what you want... you want to blow your motor up after dropping 3 grand into the motor/setup or you want it to breathe naturally with tons of work? itb's are nice but i wouldnt build a motor around one part... and just try to get some from a blacktop or silvertop
more to it than that... how high are you planning on revving when your drifting, what style do you want your drift (smooth or jerky initiation), gas mileage, throttle response, power to money ratio, possible dangers/possible breakdowns....
i was only plannin on running most of 10lbs of boost with a turbo, gas i dont really care as much about, for rpms i was thinking between 4k and 5500, i think i will just stick with natural breathing.
