1978 corolla deluxe transmission options??

Hey guys, a good buddy of mine just picked up a 78 corolla deluxe thats pretty mint for it's age. It's an automatic trans however so we are trying figure out what 5 speed trannies we can get to work in this sucker?? Does anyone know what trannies will bolt up or which ones will work with some minor fabrication? Also how about anyone have one they want to sell? We will also need the pedal assembly and shifter too to do the conversion.
We are also so looking for high performance struts/shock for this like maybe some bilsteins or something but once again we have no ides what fits so input here would be great as well!!
Any help is greatly appreciated,we are having a hard time finding much info on this car.
Thanks abunch!!!

t40 or t50 transmissions will bolt on. t40 being a 4 speed manual and the t50 being a 5 speed offered on the 80+ corollas including and ending with the ae86's. you will need a bell housing though. i believe the 3tc powered corollas will work. the difference being the starters. good luck finding one though. theyre getting plenty rare and everyone wants to be a drift champ with their ae86's nowadays which isnt helping
