4A-C isnt a performance engine by any means, there are guys that try to turbo them on club4ac.com, but your best and easiest alternative is the 4A-GE for a quick bump in power, theres no point in getting a 4A-GZE if you dont plan on running boost, if you do then yes it is the best engine for that as far as "A" series is concerned.

Another question is the SR5 youre looking at a automatic or a stick?

if thats the route you want then find a 4A-GE out of a 90,91 corolla GTS, this is the smallpot, hicompression version of the 4ag, just put all the RWD componenets on it, also it has some beefy rods, from what i remember they have the same rods as a GZE, so if you ever want to run boost you can just trow in some GZE pistons and youre good to rock

Off an AE86 GTS, well if you want to keep your car stick theres no point in changing the transmission because the HI-COMP smallport bolts right up to it, just a bit of intake manifold modding is needed or a TVIS spacer to get rid of the TVIS on a RWD intake manifold
