Guzzling Fuel!
Hi, I'd appreciate any advice about this problem...
My AE86 is thirsty! I'm on track to get less than 200km out of a full tank. My friend with the same car says he can get around 500km.
I haven't had the car that long so I'm not sure what it could be. I had it checked out before I realized this problem, and there didn't seem to be any vacuum leaks.
One problem is the water temp ssr that controls the meter isn't working. I was told that sensor only affects the meter, and there are other sensors that report to the EFI system...
The plugs (iridium, so probably not that old) were pretty black indicating a rich mixture.
I'm replacing the exhaust next week and I got a new O2ssr to go with it. Do you think that could help the problem?
FYI: Running stock ECU.
