what kinda funds are you looking at? you can do any thing from an all motor 300 hp or fuel injected, turbo, super charger? you can put on a weber carb and an header and get a few more, and if you still got tome $$ a cam... dual side draft carbs are pimp but a lil pricy

thanks,. i should have outlined a budget.

Im not sure how much i want to spend, i am however trying to keep things simple.

I want a single carb, Ithink a 4 barrel would be somewhat efficient (any available?) I can get Edelbrock and Holleys for a discount if there are any of their carbs to use.

A cam would be nice, and maybe a header?

I would like to use a small turbo, has anyone done any junkyard/DIY turbo setups? If a turbo is done i would like to do it on the cheap

All in all im a student with no job, i do however have friends with TONS of mechanical and fab experience, along with equipment, so i think that is the most valuable.

Easiest route would be a weber 2bbl conversion, unless you're set on a 4bbl carb. Side draughts are the best way for more power, but you could also convert it to EFI. You will NOT make 300hp all engine, that's out of the question. Bottom line is more power = spending more money. I would say rebuild it and stick a newer 2 bbl carb on it.

Edit: I sold a 22R to a guy and he put it in his sammy. Between that and Toyota 4x4 axles and 5.29 gears, he had a very capable trail truck.
