AE86 High idle and runnin rich

Ok guys, hopefully someone here has some insight for me on this matter. I got an 86 gts and once fully warmed up it still tends to idle high (imo) at around 1100-1200 rpms. Also, it feels like theres a slight openes to the throttle, i.e. it seems to pull stronger when not depressing the accelerator at first gear at near idle speeds. I also know I'm runnin slightly rich due to carbon deposits on my rear bumper and you can smell it.

As for the mods on the car, nothing extensive. Just a SRI, trd knockoff header, no cat, and 2.25 inch of piping to the muffler. I've adjuted the idle screw on the throttle body in as much as possible, and the throttle cable is tight as well. Only thing I'm wondering is if the Mass Air Flow sensor needs adjusting? I am not familiar with this Mass Air setup so if there is a way to adjust it and if that could possibly remedy my problem then that would be great. Otherwise not sure what else there is to do.

Throttle cable should have a small amount of slack in it, when the throttle is fully closed (engine idling).

An engine that's not fully warming up will fast-idle due to inadequate heat to the aux air regulator (in the bottom of the throttle body).

What's a SRI

SRI= short ram intake. And ya know what, you might be right with the not fully warmed up part. I dont know where on the factory temp. gauge it should be at when fully warmed up, but never seems to get right in the middle but a lil bit shy of it. Think I need to change the thermostat? Guess it couldnt hurt to do. It's cheap and I need to flush the coolant system soon anyway

it seems like the 4ag never really warms up, my brothers GTS is always at 1000-1200, could be a thermostat problem

If you drain the coolant to change the thermostat, put in a genuine Toyota thermostat for the extra $5 that it costs.

Also, while it's apart, blow some compressed air through the coolant hoses that connect to the bottom of the throttle body. You may also wish to remove the throttle body and the aux air valve (with all the philips screws) to clean out any built-up coolant crusties.

New throttle gasket and AAR gasket from the dealership runs about $10ish last time I bought them.
