Greetings forumites,
I'm new here. I just bought a 1986 Corolla (not even sure of the model 2AE82E) for $200. The engine has what sounds like a rod knock, so a rebuild is in order. It also has a dented driver's front fender with the headlight missing.
I'm no stranger to automotive projects and so the engine is no big whoop, but finding body parts concerns me. Are fenders and headlights difficult to find for this year?
OK, well I just wanted to say hello and I'm off to search and read.
BTW, what the heck is the yellow goo all over the inside of the engine bay? I thought someone blasted it with a fire extinguisher or something, but I saw another member photo with the same bizarre yellow coating. Weird.
