4AGE starting problem

hi there i bought an AE86 1985 hatchback and i have a couple problems starting it ... doesnt start at all ... firstable i had a hot igition coil probleme and i cleaned the ground wire and now hes lightly hot ... is it normal ? and i have a strange sound around my fuel pressure regulator on my fuel rail over the injectors so i checked the flow and i discovered that the regulator is stuck open so the pressure in the line cant grow ... even if theres low pressure in the fuel rail would the engine start anyway ? thanks to the ones who can help me !

how did you 'discover' that?

it's more likely that your fuel pump isn't pumping. get a pressure gauge and check your fuel pressure with the AFM flap held open, key on. then carefully pinch off your fuel return hose and see if the pressure spikes up.

fuel pressure should be around 2.5 bar on these cars.
