LSD diffs, Corona rear axle vs. AE86
Okay, so I hope I'm not beating a dead horse here, but these are my issues of late. It appears that the Corollas with the LSD rear ends have an axle housing that the "3rd member" bolts into. My '81 Corona's setup appears to be a one piece housing with a diff cover on the back. I have no idea if the axle's have the same number of splines or are the same dimensions even, So maybe I just need to trial fit an early AE86 LSD that I purchase from ebay. Suffice it to say that the axle bearings are shot too, I hearing a pretty bad clicking noise from the right rear and the bearings are original (almost 300,000 miles).
If anyone has experience with this sort of swap or has any insight at all, really, it is greatly appreciated.
