Key Cylinder Issues

I got an 87 ae86 and i noticed that i can pull the key out while the engine is running. ive noticed this on a lot of the older corollas especially the ones where you have to click it down before it releases and they probably go bad because people forget to and pull the key out at ACCessories. is there a way to pull out the key cylinder and correct this?

Change the starter switch, the reason you can pull out the key is by the key wear. The past of the years putting and pulling the key make wear on it and in the starter switch...

I had the same problem. Changing the starter switch corrected this problem for me.
