4a-c probs

Hi everyone ! Im new to this venue but hope i can get some enlightening ideas about my new toy, no pun intended ! lol I have an 86 corolla, 4a-c engine , carbed, front drive with 65k original miles. It is the preverbial old ladys car who kept it garaged ! The only problem is that she hardly drove it for years and that caused lots of probs. I am sorting through these now but need help with a problem i cant seem to solve. the car is super hard to start, when it does, you must pump the heck out of the gas to get it to run. When it warms up it idles good but has a flat spot at the one third throttle position and will gradually rev up if held down. any suggestions???? I have replaced the feul pump, rebuilt the carb, replaced the dist. cap, rotor, plugs, ive been told it may be the aap diaphram in the carb, Will it act this way from that ?? the car sat for a year or so after the carb overhaul. if that helps.

Hey, moved your thread from the intro section to the Corolla section. These guys know this car well and can help you.
I think maybe you need to run some seafoam thru the fuel system and de- gunk that carb.An ignition system tune up would probably help too. But these guys are the real experts.
Good Luck and welcome to ToyotaNation
