help with 3tc swap

ok i have 1983 corolla wagon 4ac motors fine but tranny bad and i cant find find a transmission so i m wanting to put in my 3tc in with the 5 spped what do ineed to do

ok, the 3tc and the 4ac 5speeds are the same except or the bellhousing, no you may have to modify the engine mouts a bit, but thats not forsure untill you actually get down with doing it

if you have one thats perfect... do some measurements you never know they could be the same, if its obvious that they are not then just swap the cross member, also youre going from automatic to 5spd right?

oh ok you have complete cars, so basically take everything out of the parts car and put it back in the way you took it out in the car you want to drive

Your going to have to either get a custom header or use an OEM manifold to get the exhaust to clear the rack and pinion. The crossmember on the 83 would have to be modified to get the 3TC to go on, but you have the correct one from the 82 so you don't need to worry about that. The trans from a 4AC and 3TC are diffent and are not interchangable. For 3tc parts go to http://3tcgarage.com/

yea i got the whole 3 tc engine and t50 5 speed and the 82 wagon that it came off of for clutch parts

Just swap over the crossmemeber. You would be better off though, just putting in a 4ag. It would drop in with no mods. and a 4ag wagon on dual side drafts would be preettttyyy nasty.
