Ok guys, ive got thid 86 rolla 4a-lc that ive replaced just about everything under the hood i can unbolt and it still wont run right !! I just replaced the carb with a rebuilt one and thought that it would cure my probs and while it is running a bit better, it is still missing and hesitating at low speeds when it warms up. The choke is opening , i replaced the fuel filter and most everything i can think of. any suggestions ?? Oh, when it is cold it idles and accelerates fine.

Fuel system problems I got em

If you haven't seen my posts... I've been struggling with an 88 fx 4a lc. It sat for 6 years and I've almost got it right. Recently I stopped messing with the carb. It would quit running for lack of fuel. Spray start would get it to run. So I finnaly realized it was the feed from the tank that was not working. Yeah I had fuel in the filter but the pump (new) couldn't suck it because of blockage further back! I had the tank down once already and I thought I cleared the line well enough. The other day I dropped the tank again and the pipe that draws fuel through the strainer has an s shaped bend where rust collected. so I tried to clear it again. Last time I cleared it a bit of wire broke off and stayed inside there. I was using a drill with a double strand of twisted .032 safety wire. If the vent line is clogged that will creat a vapor lock also. Try running your car from an alternate fuel system. From the filter back run a hose into a gas can. I should have replaced all the flexible hose sections the first time. Live and learn.
