4A-LC Ignition System?

Somebody told me the distributor for this car is wicked expensive. Aside from the rotor, cap, wires and plugs, what would you expect to replace next. What normally goes bad on these systems?

distributor is pretty inexpensive- aftermarket i replaced mine a few yrs back, other than the occassional igniter failure or "o" ring leaking at base of it the distributors r good.

After I posted that, I found them for sale on ebay for $155.oo.

I should not have listened to the hick behind the counter at the auto parts store. He said they are three hundred dollars.

I have to inspect / troubleshoot mine because I have a bit of hesitation and am not getting complete combustion.

Self service auto wrecking yards like this one http://www.picknpull.com/check_inventory.aspx routinely have distributors you can pull from wrecked 4ALC Corollas for about $35
