4agze motor swap

i'm sure many have gone down this road before...my wife has given me the green light to move forward with my swap of a 4agze motor into my gts. got some of the bases covered already. my main question lies w/engine harness...does 1 know how readily available a complete 4agze harness is? and the difficulty in making it fit in a corolla. sorry this was long

What year GT-S do you have? (AE86 or AE92)

actually question is what 4agze your going to use? you need to remember that 4agze came with an AFM and MAP, harness from MAP AE92 & AE101 Japanese 4agze are harder to find, in the US we only got the 4agze AFM version I bet if you go to a MR2 AW11 forum you can find some & also try looking in club4ag.

Great car, good choice on the motor but one comment on the MR2 4agze, its AFM in personal experience , when your in a MR2 forum ask whats more worth the money a 4agze from an MR2, a 4agze from a AE92 or a 4agze from a AE101?

would it just be easy to turbo the stock 4a-ge? the entire motor was rebuilt june/06...might have 16k on motor. however motor was rebuilt stock. would the bottomend hold up to some boost or not?

The bottom end can handle boost, its that same as the N/A 4AGE.

You can do that but you cant boost more than 8psi well, you can boost more than 8psi but you'll risk breaking something. ok here is a math let say your bluetop 4ag is still running a compression rate of 9.4 (original stock 4age compression) thats actually ok to boost but will the stock rod hold on that pressure or will the 3 rib block not crack under pressure.

now if you turbo a 4agze thats a better idea, remember the 4agze has a 7 rib reinforced block and like the AE92 & AE101's they have an oil port, with its 8.0 compression ratio you can boost more than 8psi and safer also, but this is all up to you as a fellow AE86 been playing with them since 2003 just an advice.

very true lots of fun indeed, I like to keep it safe I'll sacrifice making lots of power than reliability. I stared off as a 4ac to 4agze from an AE101 to what is now a HKS/toda 4agze.
