Your still at that huh, Dont you have a corolla with a 3tc you could swap all the parts onto the car that has the 4ac? As far as I know they put both those motors in corolla's 1983 unless the stopped doing that in 82 but there isint much of a differance if any in those two years. And waht exactly are you trying to do put a 3tc in a 4ac car, youll need the 3tc bell houseing, engine mounts, probley crossmember also. 3tc's and 4ac's also have a ecu controlled carb so I'd swap the whole ecu and wire harness, the ecu's might be the same the carbs pretty much are but I'm pretty sure there wired differnt but you might be able to make the 4ac's wiring to work. The only thing a differnt system between the two motors is the 4ac has a internal coil and the 3tc corolla I had, had a external coil. so differnt ignition but they might be turned on the same way. I've never done this swap but I was going to put the 4ac out of my ae82 into a te72. So I checked into it alot. It just turned out my te was a little more wasted than I thought and I was unable to find a ae72 in my local junk yard to get a trans cause mine was bad and the bellhouseing and the other parts I needed. But You have almost all the parts If I remember right. The raditor should fit I've only seen differnt rads between front and rear drive cars.

Hey are you selling any of the parts? I really really need the Carb. I can pay pal or cashier check money order however you would liek payment if you are willing to sell it. I would also by the whole engine if you had a way to ship it
My front drive AE-82 has a ecu on the inside of the fire wall and it has a sticker that says 4ac on the outside. If it dosent have a ecu whats the purpose of the oxygen sensor, and the throttle postion censor thats bolted to the side of the carb It may be a rudimentary but its still a ecu.

It is for various emissions controls on the engine, however it does not control the fueling of the engine, so it's not an EFI setup, and while it is an ECU, it is not an engine ECU, it's an emissions control ECU.
As far as years, etc. The 3T-C was used until 1982, the 4A-C replaced it in 1983. There was never any overlap where they made both at the same time.
The AE71 had a different crossmember with rack & pinion steering, the TE72 had conventional steering. I don't know if the engine mounting points are in the same spot, but if they aren't some custom work will likely be required.
I know ecu dont control the fueling of the engine. The ecu does information from the carb and turns emission shit on and off, so if a 3tc and 4ac had differnt emissions stuff it would matter which ecu the car was running. Which is what I was trying to tell him about his swap, because I dident know the emissions were the same on both engines, not get in to a debate about a Whether or not the 4ac has a ecu or not. Also about the engines being made at the same time, I've just seen TE-7X's with 4ac's in the junkyard.
