FX-16 outerCV joints

Well, I just bought 2 NOS outer CV joints from ebay, they don't fit, of course.
What sucks is that they appear to be very high-quality made-in-Japan Moog units from at least a decade ago. They do fit the normal FWD Corollas of the day. BUT that doesn't help me at all.
I don't entirely mind buying either new axles or just outer joints, but i need something.
I'm open to inexpensive suggestions, would MR2 CV joints be the same? I could snag some at the PnP.
The FX-16 is a red-headed step child!

I'd try the axle out of a 88 chevy nova or a 88-91 or so AE-92 corolla. Those cars have the newer style axle toyota used the ones for regular Ae-82 are the bolt up style. with a 30mm nut and I belive the newer ones like the fx are larger than that.

the ones i got are for the 83-87 corolla or 88ish nova. it did use a 30mm nut.
the entire outer half of the cv joint itself is the same, just the spline on the axle is larger on the FX16. I even took my old one apart to see if i could just use my inner part of the joint, with the balls, outer part etc of the new one, but my old inner part is shot also. back to square one.
