2nd Generation 2tc vacuum problems and fuel problems

I have a 77 corolla with a 2tc engine. i just bought it friday. the previous owner pulled out all egr and vacumm lines. it runs if you spray starter fluid in it. i fixed all the fuel lines and added a couple of vacuum lines. one going to fuel pump regulator. plugged off a couple lines. it gets fuel now in the bowl but will not stay running. have a chilton book but it is not helpfull at all. thank you for all of your future help.

2nd Generation

Thank you for your quick response. I kinda figured it did. my biggest problem now will be the vacuum lines. I am woudering what the minimum number of lines needed and if the fuel reg needs to go to a certain port or if any manifold port will do. also it has a aux fuel injector port for cold starts. Does it need this or if i can do without. Thank you all for your time and input.

Ok, i pulled the carb off jst taking a lookat it. pulled air horn and float off. the float is new. pulled out the jets and they are clear. Whats the chance the fuel cutoff soleinoid is bad? I am getting power to it but feel and hear no click. can i just pull it out and plug off hole with a bolt or do i need to find a new one? tommorow i will try to pull it out of the carb and check it that way. Thanks again.

Did you do something before getting it running, that made it run, that you did not previously mention?
