The easiest thing to do would be to sell your corolla and find a 4a-g corolla.
If you must keep your corolla, the 4a-c will not yield very high output, although the paradise racing powerpack (cam, valvesprings, and carb) is a good suggestion. this, however, might be illegal according to smog and state laws, depending on where you live.
Any 4ag (twincam 4-valve head with fuel injection) swap should fit right in your car, and the axles and trans should be a direct fit as well. check to be sure, as im not sure on the wagon however. The 4ag came in 4 distinct variations: the Bigport 16v, the Smallport 16v, supercharged 16v, and a couple japan-only 20v.
either the smallport or bigport should be cheap and easy to find in the US, as they came in the AE86'S, AE82'S, and the AE92'S, all in GT-S trim, as well as the aw11 MR2. The 4agze was only found in america in the supercharged aw11 MR2 and a few japan only AE92'S. and finally, the 20 valve engines were japan only as well, in the AE101/111's.
Swapping to even just the basic bigport 4ag engine will require:
-the engine (block and head)
-the intake and exhaust manifolds
-the wiring harness and all related sensors and electrical components
-the ECU
-the fuel tank
-the fuel pump
-the fuel lines
-the ignition system
if there is anything else, please add it, but as you can see, this is no small feat! and i didn't even mention the suspension and brake upgrades required to match the added speed of the new motor, nor the fact that you will either need the original 4ag cluster or an aftermarket tachometer to see where you are revving to.
either find a running 4ag corolla outright, or find a good donor car that has everything else you need, or you will be in for a major headache and an empty wallet. GOOD LUCK!
