lemegacool's new project 85 ae86 GT-S restoration

well i picked up this little hatchi roku in deseperate need of love from a welder!!

bought it with my mechanic buddy as a common project! paid a whopping 450$ for it! interior is complete but currently completely dissasembled!

engine is blown (guy said a melted valve... will have to check)

sunroof, pop headlights, all wipers are working! lumbar support in the driver's seat is woking too!

floor is rotten and needs to be replaced... rockers seems to be ok!

rest you can see by the pics

i'm currently stripping it to a shell to repair ALL rust and make it good as new! then sandblast and paint!!

for the future engine we are still debating between a twincharged 4agzte or a single turboed 1jzgte

pic time!

Be prepared for hard work with a 1JZ. Been there done that and even though there is slightly more room in the AE86 then my nearly identical TE72 at the end of the day I wish I had gone with a 3SGTE.

Good luck to you. I also have way more rust.
