weber 32/36 install problem help...

hi guys just installed a weber 32/36 with the holley fuel regulator on my 2tc

at 1st i install it with out the fuel regulator and it would run but fuel begins to
leak from under the motor around the oil pan but dont know eactly where its leaking from.
i smelled the dip stick and oil cap and i smell gas.

2nd i installed the fuel reg and it would run but idles kinda low but once i unplug the hose
(picture below) the rpm shoots up and fuel will start leaking

3rd i put a fuel return but it still would leak or is this for the vapor canister port?

cant find were the leak is coming from all i know its somewhere under the motor close to the oil pan
can someone tell me why im leaking fuel. is it flooding?

I am 99% sure your fuel pump is leaking. The fuel pump is driven by the camshaft and is located under the intake manifold next to the oil filter.

As for the fuel return I just cant remember without seeing it close up but i think that is the fuel return.

As for the vapor canister. Unless you are in a smog state I would say remove it. 99% of the time they are no good anyway as they are too old and saturated.

For a 32/36 I have never run a fuel pressure regulator. The stock regulator is always good for webers and stock fuel pumps. You need the regulator if you run holley fuel pumps and stuff like that. As for the oil cap and dispstick smelling like gas you need to check that out asap. It sounds like you are pumping fuel into the vacuum port of the carb and not the fuel port and it is dumping fuel into the engine. First check your fuel pump and look at the fuel lines. There should be one fat hose that is obviously the supply line and one that should obviously be the fuel filter line as it will be thin and connect to a soft line to the fuel filter. For the return you need to look for a similiar sized hose on the carb as the hardline that returns to the tank

Also change your oil asap. You dont want to damage the engine.
