AE101 SE-G 1.6L rejuvenation & revamp project.
Hey guys,
Currently working to rejuvenate my old AE101 SE-G. My dad bought it for my mom to replace her Toyota Corolla E90 1989 back in 2000 from an old lady owner who used it just to send her grandkids to school. It was in a very good shape back then when only my mom was using it to go to work but over the years my bro used it once he had his license & his young blood wrecked the car.
By the time he bought his own car, my mom already bought a Toyota Parado & the AE101 was passed down to me. I crashed it once. A trailer rammed the right backside of the car, the driver did the repairs & painted the part he rammed including the whole trunk. I got married & bought a Toyota Hilux & my wife used the AE101 to go work. She dented the front left side while parking in the garage, had an accident with a motorcycle & quite a number of other scratches, dents, etc.
The engine is well maintained with every 5k km oil change, etc only the body was a wreck. The interior was a mess too, my eldest son peeled the fabric on the doorboard. Quite an eyesore if you ask me. So i decided this year I'm gonna rejuvenate the AE101 since the engine is in very good shape.
Went shopping for rims, here the rims are mostly from Taiwan & quality wise not impressive. Japanese rims meanwhile are freaking expensive. While i was window shopping for rims, stopped at this 1 shop where the owner just bought a VIOS TRD 2015 changed his original Toyota TRD (Enkei) rims that came with the car with sports rims. So I asked the guy to sell off his TRD rims & he agreed.
Went to check the progress. They have pulled out the interior, bumpers, etc. Knocked the dented parts & scrubbed the old paint off.
Final product :
Love the color!
