94 Corolla modifications

Hey folks,

I own a '94 Corolla, apparently an AE101, with a 4A-FE engine. I've decided to start putting some modifications into it and I was wondering where is a good place to get aftermarket parts (particularly for a fairly old, not-so-classic (as opposed to the the ae86) car). Specifically I was looking to start out with a short-shift kit, and I was wondering if you guys could recommend some online, mail-order, or brick-and-mortar stores.

Thanks,

Athul

I sifted through the first five pages or so, and couldn't really find what I was looking for. Google searches / EBay have also left me pretty confused -- it's hard to know what's a good deal and what's a rip-off waiting to happen. Prices seem to range from $20-$70 -- that's a wide spread. So I'm looking for some quick recommendations, places that do their business fairly and have in your past experience tended to have what you're looking for.

this site is pretty cool, although they don't carry the TRD lines. Although I have noticed that for the 94 corolla that TRD didn't make many parts.

As for which brand of short throw shifter to buy. It really doesn't matter as long at it is as least T-6 Aluminum or stainless. You can spend 34 bucks for an off brand one or 180 for a B&M shifter choice is yours.

I bought a short throw shifter off of ebay it cost me about 30 with shipping. I'll let you know if it was a waste or not. I figured I need to tear apart my console to replace my shifter bushing, so I might as well buy the short throw shifter because I want one anyway. Now I am just looking to improve handeling before making more power. After all what good is all the power in the world if you can't corner, but I digress
