Any tips on replacing one of these before I attempt it tomorrow? Looks like a major PIA.

you should definetly remvove power steering all together. thatd be rad. hp increase

yes if you have power steering rack and no pump.. as for horse power increase.. that isnt alot, all rally cars have power steering nowadays even.

i like the way not having power steering feels as long as ur not trying to parellel park

Don't you get a more direct feel of your car when you have no PS?

Thanks for the clarification. Sorry about the misunderstanding. HP in the title meant high pressure hose. I thought that the responses were puzzling.

By the way just finished the job a couple of hours ago. It is a roal PIA. Got bloody cuts on both arms to prove it.

And thanks to those that took the time to post a response. Ain't the internet grand?

i did a power steering replacement on my 97 corolla. was a big "PIA". my hands also got cut up .the space to tighten the hose connection is small. the worst part was trying to connect the firewall mount back into place.
